These last few months have been a whirlwind

With over 1.1 million views on Insta in the last 60 days, I'm learning some important lessons about 'success'.

I built and launched a course with my friend, Jo. (More on that in a moment).

I want to talk about my new-found Instagram quasi-virality, not because I think it's the only important thing or even that impressive but because there have been so many lessons along the way.

The first is that showing up as who you are is what invokes the blessing of God.

I've been more authentic.

I've spoken my mind.

I've said things that no one else was willing to say.

I've also made some mistakes.

I replied to some comments that didn't deserve a response.

I've travelled close to the edge of how to attract attention.

It's a tricky thing to get right but I'm glad that I'm heading in the right direction.

As soon as I started owning who I was, my history, my gift and my revelation, everything just started shifting.

And then there's the down side.

When you show up in your true identity, the enemy is terrified.

Spiritual attack intensifies.

I've prayed a lot in the last couple of months.

I've been more conscious of the need for rest.

I've strengthened my disciplines on social media.

I've had some difficult conversations.

There's nothing more dangerous than seeing 37 people follow you, every time you refresh the app.

Proverbs tells us that a person is tested by being praised.

Showing up is half the battle.

But you need more than just showing up to build a brand.

You need to be willing to do the work.

To test what works.

To build out the sale process.

To nurture and connect with your audience.

You're not stuck because you don't have enough time or energy.

The real reason you're stuck is exactly the same reason I wasn't showing up authentically as myself.

I was afraid.

I didn't want to be perceived in a certain way.

But I discovered that they no longer had any power over me.

This is the Christian life.

This is what it means to follow Jesus.

So now let's talk about you.

You're here because you're trying to build something.

Maybe you've got a creative gift - you want to design shoes or sell table cloths.

Maybe you want to build a brand for yourself as an artist or a musician.

I can't promise that you won't feel fear.

But I can promise that God is greater.

At the end of your life, he will actually ask you about this.

About your gift. Your creative dreams. Your brand.

I'm sure he'll be very gracious.

But do you really want to be in the same place in 8 years?

Or how about 18 years?

It's time bro.

It's time to stir up your boldness and get serious about building your brand.

So what is your next step?

You need a revelation from the Holy Spirit.

A conviction that this dream is not from you but actually from God.

And I can actually give you that clarity.

Or at the very least create the environment for the Holy Spirit to speak to you about it.
